WELCOME TO 1P
New information and photos are under the green Homework section... enjoy!
Don't forget to check the MyMaths homework site every fortnight for a new homework task. Homework will be set every other Friday and you have until the Thursday to complete it (the dates are on the task so you know when it is due)
Remember, you can do it as many times as you like - the more the better!
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CANNOT ACCESS IT - WE CAN TRY TO SORT THIS FOR YOU, OR ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE MADE IN SCHOOL
You will receive English homework/spellings to learn on a Friday also. It is a good idea to keep the sheet until Thursday so you can practice the spellings before the little test on Friday, even if the sheet has been completed at the weekend/beginning of the week.
Gawthorpe Hall Walk
Yesterday we had a lovely walk to Gawthorpe Hall. We looked at the building and sat and drew it, trying to add lots of detail. We then got to look around the grounds and play in the maze!
Have a look at some photos of the walk and our super art work!
National Fitness Day
We had a great day for National Fitness Day last week! We got to wear our sporty clothes and had a session with a special teacher from Burnley FC!
Have a look at a few photos of us doing our exercise session...
Roald Dahl Day
We had a lovely day dressed as book characters and wearing Roald Dahl's favourite colour yellow! Take a look at our fantastic outfits...
What a super first day in Year 1...
The children were all brilliant and settled really well into their new class - well done!

Welcome to 1P!
Hello and welcome to Year 1!
I am sure that we will have a fantastic year and you will learn lots and have lots of fun!
Joining me in 1P is Mrs Davidson who will be in class all day Monday-Thursday. Miss Fort is helping us all day Monday and teaching on Thursday afternoons (Wednesday morning from November) and Mrs Hope will be with us each morning until 10.30. We are also very lucky to have a college student two days a week until Christmas! We have so many teachers to help us!!
The 'curriculum cloud' details what we will be learning in each subject this term. Our topic is 'The Place Where We Live.' Keep an eye on this page for more information and photos of what we are doing in our new class...
Things to know...
End of the day arrangements - Pick up your child from the top of the first set of steps - I will stand at the wooden gate and let the children out when I see a grown up.
PE is Tuesday afternoon - Please ensure that ALL KIT is NAMED. Earrings need to be removed on Tuesdays as children cannot do PE with earrings in.
Reading Books - will be changed as often as we can (at least 3 times per week) so please send book bags in each day, whether they have read the book or not, as I read in school with the children also. Children will read with teaching assistants each week but this may not be written in their records as we now have in school ones.
Homework - will be given out on a Friday. Please encourage the children to do the sheet as independently as possible and learn the spellings on the sheet. Please return the sheet by the following Thursday and we will do a little test to check what they have learnt. We also get Maths homework which is done online - information on this will be given out soon.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK A MEMBER OF STAFF.
