Birds of prey visit to finish off the Spring term. 🦅
Wow, what a day! We’ve had a fabulous day as Vikings. The children made a fabulous effort with their clothes, thank you! We’ve made trollens, studied artefacts, played a Viking game, create a long ship and wrote this weeks spellings in runes. What a fabulous way to end this topic! 😃

British Science Week - Connections. 🧪 🧫 🧬
To finish off our computing topic, the children presented their castle PowerPoints to the rest of the class. Next week, we will be evaluating them. Well done to everyone; they have all worked very hard. 🖥️ 💻
This week, 5B have been extremely busy using their brains for our independent write ✍🏼 and maths progress check 🧮. So, we decided to treat ourselves to a couple of brain breaks! As you can tell, the children really enjoyed it. 🦒 🦓 🦔 🦁 🐍
We had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day. We completed numerous activities and all the children chose a book to take home and keep! Well done for all of your efforts 📕
Today, the children have really enjoyed using their imagination. 💭 They needed to answer the questions and create a story to go with it. ✍🏼 They enjoyed telling their partners their story and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. 🗣️ 📖
As part of children’s mental health week, we wore our scarfs today and we completed some activities too. Have a look at the pictures.
As part of Online Safety Day, we created videos encouraging children to stay safe online. As you can tell, they were a little bit of nervous giggles but they did really well. 📞🗣️🖥️💻

👮🏼♀️This week the children have been wiring postcards from Goldilocks, who is in prison! 👩🏼 They have thoroughly enjoyed it and have created some beautiful pieces of work. 😃
Fun in the snow!
I have been blown away with how amazing the children have been in maths this week. We have been attempting some very tricky multiplication questions but the children have made it look extremely easy! They have all worked so hard and you should all be very proud of them. I definitely am! Well done 5B 😃

🤶 🎅🏼🎄 Christmas Jumper Day. We had a great day in our Christmas jumpers. We also had a lovely Christmas Dinner at lunch time too. 🤶 🎅🏼🎄
We had a fabulous trip to Burley Youth Theatre to watch The Wizard of Oz. The children behaved brilliantly throughout and clearly enjoyed the show. There were lots of excited children on the way but on the way back they were exhausted. Some even fell asleep!
🏆📚This week, we have started our fractions unit. The children have worked so hard, on what can be very complicated aspect of maths, and are extremely proud of their work. Keep it up 5B! 🧮 📏

🧬 🧪 Our science lessons have been based on the Circulatory System. This week, the children made their own lungs out of plastic bags and straws. They had great fun and have a better understanding of how they work and why they are so important to us! 🫁

Today, we broke all of the rules and wrote on the tables! The children had a lot of fun using markers to draw place value charts and represent different numbers using counters. ✍🏼 🔴🔵🟡
Hello 5B!
I am Miss Brennan and I will be your teacher for this year. Mrs Knightley is our Teaching Assistant and we are very lucky to have her. We are so excited to get to know you all and have lots of fun with our learning.
Over the next few weeks, I will upload more information onto Class Dojo and on the Website but for now, I wanted to let you know about some key information.
1. Our PE lessons will be on Tuesday mornings. Please make sure you come into school in your PE kit every Tuesday.
2. Please bring in a water bottle so you can keep it in class.
3. A healthy snack can be brought into school for you to eat at break time, if you wish.
4. Homework will be handed out on Friday and should be completed by the following Friday.
5. Please find attached the Curriculum Cloud for Autumn Term. There are so many exciting topics for us to get stuck into and I can't wait!
