Bug hunting

This week we have been learning about minibeast. The children have explored different types of minibeast and what makes them similar and different. We've painted our favourite minibeast, built a home for our favourite creatures and we even went on a bug hunt around school. The children wanted to keep all the creatures we found as pets. We apologise now if anybody went home with a minibeast in their pocket!

Things that grow

This week we have been exploring the concept of growing. We have discussed all the things that can grow, including us, animals and plants. We decided to have a grow at growing our own plant. The children researched how to look after a plant and we created instructions to plant a seed. The children then planted their own seed and have had the responsibility of looking after their own plant.

It's winter time!

As we are in a new season, we decided to explore winter. We've learnt what the weather is like, what things we might see in winter and what clothes we might wear. We've even had a look at winter animals. We decided to take the children on a winter walk. We saw snow, tree's with no leaves, ice on the ground and the children said how cold it was....they said 'Jack Frost has been playing outside'. We decided to collect twigs to make a winter tree. Take a look at some of our creations.
