Thursday 7th January
SPELLING
Complete Thursday's list on yesterday's sheet.
READING
Watch the video in the link below.
*Note for parents/carers:
The Girl with the Yellow Bag has a magic bag in which she places recyclable objects. When she opens the bag, wonders appear. This shows how rubbish can be transformed into beautiful things. Pause the video each time she places an object into her bag and ask your child to predict what wonder they think it will emerge from the bag as (i.e. a feather transforms into flying birds).
Activity:
Draw and colour a series of six pictures (one in each box) on the storyboard template. Your pictures must retell the story of The Girl with the Yellow Bag but the child should be yourself with a bag of your choice. What recyclable objects will you put in your bag? what wonders will they emerge as? I can't wait to find out! Please share these with me.
ENGLISH
Watch the video in the link below and follow the process of a cardboard box being recycled.
TOPIC
This morning you explored the idea of turning a piece of rubbish into something beautiful. Using a cardboard box, create a piece of beautiful art work. I have posted a photo of an example below.
*I appreciate that a lot of you brought your cardboard boxes into school on Monday, so, if you don't have any more cardboard at home, you can create a masterpiece using paper/ newspaper/ magazines/ comics/ catalogues.
