Welcome to 5S.

Hello my name is Mrs Spencer and I am the class teacher. Mrs Leyland is our Teaching Assistant this year. This year I am looking forward to lots of new learning. The team in Year 5 and 6 have planned some extremely engaging and exciting lessons which we will deliver over the coming months.  Please take a look at the curriculum cloud to see our topics and subjects in more detail.

P.E. will take place on a Monday.

Reading books will sent home each night. Please encourage your child to read as regularly as possible.

Homework will be given out at the end of the week. 

If there is anything you need to speak to me about please message me on Class Dojo or alternatively you can catch me in the morning before school starts or at the end of the day.

Curriculum Overview.

This term our Topic is Explorers and Innovators.

Please take a look at the Curriculum Overview for Year 5 and 6.

Take a look at some of the exciting things we have been doing in 5S this term.  

We have been learning new songs, playing instruments and composing our own music in our weekly Music lessons delivered by Miss Liggins.

We have enjoyed visiting the Library each week. The children have enjoyed choosing their own books to take back to class and reading stories to each other during the session.

The children have enjoyed improving their PE skills.

The children have enjoyed their Art work based on David McKeown. They have sketched, painted and produced Art work in his style. 

The children have enjoyed learning about Christianity. 

The children have learnt all about how mountains are formed and how difficult it is for explorers to climb to the summit.
