In 4C we have been very lucky to have been visited by Life Church. They told us how they serve God. The children even got to dress up. Can you guess who is who?
Over our first half term we have been learning netball in our P.E lessons. We have learnt many skills including footwork, passing, defending, attacking, shooting, positions and we have built character skills. In our final week our coach Sharona chose six children that have stood out to her for different reasons over the past 7 weeks. Well done to Bentley, Leo-Joe, Noah, Amelia.D, Evelyn and Victoria.
World Values Day. Today we had a visit off Leanne, Coban’s mum, who is a nurse at Blackburn Hospital. Leanne came to chat to 4C all about her wonderful career. They learnt how she became a nurse, the routine of her day as a nurse, what her favourite and least favourite part of her job is and many more things. Leanne very kindly brought in some bandages, a stethoscope and a thermometer for the children to use after she had demonstrated why they are used on patients and how they are used. As you can see from the pictures 4C really enjoyed their morning. Some of the children were inspired to become a nurse when they are older. Thank you so much Leanne for your visit. Myself, Mrs Shanks and 4C enjoyed it very much!!.
Yesterday we had a spooktacular day to celebrate halloween. All of the children looked incredible in their outfits!!
Today we started one of our new topic lessons, design technology. We are taking part in The Great British Soup Off....... a spin off from The Great British Bake off. We will be competing against 3W and 3/4R to create the best soup and hopefully be crowned, The Star Soup Maker class. Today we tasted existing products and rated them from 1-10 on appearance, taste, smell and texture.
Dogs Trust came into school today to visit us. We learnt many ways to help take care of dogs and safety around dogs. We were very lucky to also have Dougie the dog come and see us too.
We have had a wonderful day today. We started our day with remembrance day crafts, we made stained glass windows. We then made our way to St Leonard's Church for the remembrance day service, we represented Padiham Primary School impeccably. On our way back to school we couldn't believe our eyes. ELF ON THE SHELF in Padiham!! We got to say hello, have a have a hand shake and high five. It got us in the Christmas Spirit.
