Cardiac Smart Award
Mon 16 Jan 2017We have a DEFIB in the school office which we registered right away with North West Ambulance service. This means that if a defib is needed in this area when someone dials 999, the ambulance service knows to send someone to Padiham Primary School for the Defib which may be needed to “Save A Life” before the ambulance gets there.
We had an instance not long ago where North West Ambulance service did this and it was good to know us as a school where able to help in the emergency.
We have numerous staff trained in first aid that know the chain of survival, 5 staff trained in paediatric first aid and we also make sure all our year 6 pupils are trained in first aid before they leave here for high school.
Cheryl Pickstock from North West Ambulance service came into school and presented us with the Cardiac Smart Award which we are very proud of.

Face Paint for 100% Attendance
Tue 07 Jun 2016A big well done to the 105 pupils who have achieved 100% attendance in the Spring term. They received a treat for their achievement which was to have their face painted, as well as a lovely decorated biscuit. The children were amazed at this lovely reward but thoroughly deserved it for their excellent attendance.
We would like to thank Dawn Ashworth who worked tirelessly to paint each and every child's face in just one school day.
If you would like any information about Dawn's face painting then you can call her company 'Fantasy Faces' on 07858380495.
A big well done to everyone.

First Aid
Fri 27 May 2016Millie’s Trust came in to school and trained 45 pupils in first aid. They learned how to perform CPR, choking recovery and how to deal with cuts, and other minor injuries.
We also held a non-uniform day and sold cakes to the children and staff. We managed to raise a fantastic £380 to donate to Millie’s Trust which means everyone has collectively paid for another 185 people to be trained.
We had an amazing day. Thank you to all parents, pupils and staff.

PPS Defibrillator
Fri 27 May 2016We have kindly received the donation of a defibrillator from a lady called Margaret, who wanted to do something in memory of her son David.
What an amazing gift to give to us. It is lovely knowing we have the defibrillator so that we are prepared in case we ever need to use it – hopefully we won’t!
35 members of staff have been trained in first aid and 10 have been trained to use the defibrillator.
The defibrillator is located in the school office if anybody ever needs it.
A big thank you to Margaret for this amazing gift.
