  • Top Engineers!

    Tue 17 Mar 2015
Amazing news! After creating super vehicles in our DT work, two teams of budding engineers from Padiham Primary School took part in the Burnley Primary Engineer Celebration Event at Turf Moor. Tom and Molly represented the juniors and Skye and Jessica represented the infants. We are very proud to report that Skye and Jessica won their category and came away with a very shiny trophy. Their Big Bad Wolf car was well designed, really well made, travelled in a straight line and  went the furthest distance. Well done to all the children in school who worked hard and took part in the challenge this year.

    Thu 05 Mar 2015

World Book Day inspired some fantastic costumes so congratulations to everyone for making such a great effort. Enjoy reading your World Book Day books and keep on reading!

Book Week was packed full of exciting and memorable book related activities so that our children associate reading with enjoyment and pleasure.

To celebrate World Book Day, every child dressed up as a pirate. The costumes were wonderful and Staff were thrilled by the fantastic effort made by everyone so many thanks to all our parents for supporting this event so enthusiastically.

Every class throughout the school based their work for World Book Day on the theme of Pirates. Each class completed a range of lively Literacy and fun cross-curricular activities inspired by the theme. The children have loved the topic and have created some fantastic memories to mark World Book Day and their time at Padiham Primary School.

On the day, each child received a World Book Day book of their choice to encourage them to read for pleasure. Two children from each class received a book prize based on the theme of Pirates and a booty bag packed with treasure.

We are holding a Scholastic Book Fair next week so look out for next week's newsletter to find out more information about the event.
