Moon phases. The children thoroughly enjoyed their science lesson today. We investigated the moon cycles and it was made even better by using Oreo’s. I think the highlight of the lesson was eating them at the end!
Time to talk! We had a conversation about the importance of talking. The children wrote themselves a postcard about what strategies they could use if they were ever feeling overwhelmed/anxious or worried.
Have a look at our amazing end of topic work.
Swimming!
Look at our tasty pizzas.
We made healthy pizzas as part of DT topic!
Swimming information:
As you are probably aware, this year there will be a pop up swimming pool arriving on our yard for three weeks ready for our swimming lessons to start straight after October Half Term.
Each child will need to come to school wearing their swimming costume/ swimming shorts under their school uniform. They will also need to bring a towel, some shoes (flip flips, crocks, sliders...) and a swimming cap if their hair is longer than their ears. They only need to bring these in on the days that they are going into the pool.
As it is compulsory for Year 6 children to leave primary school knowing how to swim, the Year 6 children are taking priority.
Please see below the days where your child will be going into the pool:
Year six children will be going into the pool every day for the first two weeks (Monday 30th October until Friday 10th November).
Please note, some Year 6 children will be going into the pool on the final week too but this depends on who the swimming instructors deem as needing extra lessons.
Year 5 children will be going in on Thursday 9th November, Friday 10th November and Monday 13th November.
We will try out best to dry the swimming costumes on our class radiators but please can you also try and dry them as best as you can at home so they are ready for the next day.
Thank you,
Miss Brennan
As you can see, the children thoroughly enjoyed their VR headset session on Monday. They were transported to Ancient Greece as part of our Topic for Autumn Term.
Hello 5/6B!
I am Miss Brennan and I will be your teacher for this year. We are also welcoming Mrs Durkin, who is a new member of staff, as our teaching assistant. 😁
Over the next few weeks, I will upload more information onto Class Dojo and on the Website but for now, I wanted to let you know about some key information.
1. Our PE lessons will be on Tuesday mornings. Please make sure you come into school in your PE kit every Tuesday.
2. Please bring in a water bottle that you can keep in class.
3. A healthy snack can be brought into school for you to eat at break time, if you wish.
4. Homework will be handed out on Friday and should be completed by the following Friday.
5. Please find attached the Curriculum Cloud for Autumn Term. There are so many exciting topics for us to get stuck into and I can't wait!
I hope you have had a lovely summer and we will see you at 8:45am on Monday morning. ☀️
Thank you,
Miss Brennan 😊
