  • Year 5/6 High Five Netball tournament

    Mon 23 Feb 2015

Well done to the year 5 and 6 Netball team who worked extremely hard in their cluster schools Netball tournament and came 2nd!. Their first game was against Ightenhill primary school  and Padiham took lead with a 1-0. Within the final 30 seconds Ightenhill managed to equalise with the final score being 1-1.

Their next game was against Lowerhouse junior school, Padiham attempted two shots, which didn't manage to make it through the ring, leaving the final score 0-0.

Padiham's third game was against the 'undefeatable' Wellfield primary school and fortunately for us they didn't manage to keep this title as Padiham put in a very strong performance and managed to attempt six shots, with 3 going in, making the final result 3-3.
Our final game was against St-Leonards primary school and with Padiham's adrenaline at an all time high, they managed to come back fighting with a 1-0 victory. Well done to all 9 of you for coming 2nd place! You have all done your school proud.

Our first week of the Spring term has seen all the children taking part in environmental education activities during our Eco Week. Well done to Ella and Connor who won the prizes for their bird feeder and Bat Cave. Next week Year's 5 and 6 will continue their Eco journey by visiting Global Renewables in Preston, which is where all the bin lorries in Lancashire take our household rubbish to be processed.

Last Tuesday six girls and six boys from years 4,5 and 6 entered into this years Sportshall Athletics event. The girls team had a brilliant start in their track races, coming 2nd and 3rd place in the paired relay racing. By the time the boys team hit the track, they were warmed up and ready to win. Overall we came 5th place by combining all the girls and boys track event scores and all of the field event scores.
